When creating a wetroom there are 3 things that need to be carefully considered: Gradient, Drainage and Waterproofing.

Manually forming gradients from pieces of plywood or by ‘eye’ in a concrete screed can be an extremely difficult and time consuming process, often with unpredictable results. Acting as a solution to these problems, ‘Aqua-Dec’ from Impey Showers is the original wetroom floor ‘former’ with a built-in gradient for perfect drainage.

The 22mm thick ‘Dec’ has been designed to slot straight in alongside existing floor boards to create a wetroom shower floor quickly, and with a minimum amount of effort.

Whilst the concept of a wetroom is one that appeals to many homeowners, it is still often portrayed as a daunting experience to undertake. Impey Showers has developed a revolutionary product which is extremely strong, yet can be trimmed to size, drilled, and secured anywhere on its surface.  ‘Aqua-Dec’ is an all-in-one moulded shower floor, suitable for use with timber or concrete floors and is supplied with a high-performance waste trap which features a 50mm water seal and fully adjustable 50mm knuckle outlet with 50-40mm reducer (as pictured below.) This waste trap is suitable for tiled floors only, but an alternative trap can be selected for vinyl flooring (please order an Impey brochure to view all drainage options available.)

Once the ‘Dec’ has been installed and connected to a waste outlet, the floor of the wetroom should be ‘tanked’ to ensure a watertight seal. Impey offers ‘Impey Tilesafe’; a bitumen-based rubberised tanking membrane which is self adhesive and requires no drying-time, allowing tiling to be undertaken on the same day.
